CATSKILL — State Police joined a pursuit initiated by the Greene County Sheriff’s Office on State Highway 9W in the village of Catskill at approximately 10:22 p.m. on March 6.
The pursuit continued north on State Highway 9W and entered the NYS Thruway at Exit 21B where Troopers took over and eventually terminated the chase in the city of Albany.
The vehicle was later located by Troopers on Mereline Avenue in Albany after it struck an unoccupied vehicle.
Two occupants identified as Ziyad A. Mohammad, 22, and Thametrus L. Knight, 26, both of Schenectady were located inside the vehicle.
A search of the vehicle revealed 9.06 pounds of cannabis.
Knight was released on scene.
Mohammad was arrested and charged with Reckless Endangerment 2nd Degree, Criminal Possession of Cannabis 2nd Degree, Unlawful Fleeing of a Police Officer 3rd Degree and tickets for vehicle and traffic violations.
Mohammad was issued an appearance ticket for the City of Albany Court and turned over to the Greene County Sheriff’s Office.
