SAUGERTIES — The Saugerties Police Department arrested David A. Spruill, 33, of Saugerties, on March 1 at about 8:35 p.m. following a motor vehicle accident.
The arrest came after an investigation into the accident, during which Spruill was found to be in violation of multiple charges.
Spruill was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the fifth degree, aggravated driving while intoxicated, driving while intoxicated, operating an unregistered motor vehicle, being an unlicensed operator, and aggravated operation of a motor vehicle in the third degree.
After his arrest, Spruill was processed at the Saugerties Police Department.
He was later arraigned at Central Arraignment Part (CAP) Court.
The investigation and subsequent arrest were carried out with assistance from the New York State Police.
