WEATHERSFIELD — Weathersfield Police arrested a Springfield resident on charges of violating conditions of release and providing false information to law enforcement after a traffic incident on Gulf Road on Feb. 27.

Police responded to reports of multiple vehicles stuck on and near a steep hill on the road at approximately 1:15 p.m.

Upon arrival, they discovered a minor two-vehicle crash.

During the investigation, police allege that one of the vehicle operators provided a false name.

The operator was later identified as 30-year-old Orion Pfenning of Springfield.

Authorities found that Pfenning had several active sets of conditions that prohibited him from operating a motor vehicle.

Pfenning was taken into custody without incident and was transported to the Springfield Police Department for processing.

He was issued a criminal citation to appear in Vermont Superior Court, Criminal Division, Windsor Unit, at 12:30 p.m. on Feb. 28 to answer the charges.

Pfenning was lodged at the Southern State Correctional Facility on bail.
