Highgate crash injures teen, damages car

HIGHGATE — A 17-year-old from Swanton suffered suspected minor injuries after crashing a car into a telephone pole Tuesday night on Saint Armand Road, police said.

The crash happened at about 9:07 p.m., according to Vermont State Police.

Troopers arriving at the scene found a 2012 Nissan Sentra with substantial front-end damage.

The juvenile driver, whose name was not released, was evaluated at the scene by Missisquoi Valley Rescue and was later transported by a family member to Northwest Medical Center.

Police said the teen was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.

Police said the road was wet and conditions were foggy at the time of the crash.

Missisquoi Valley Rescue and Highgate Fire Department assisted at the scene.
