Hampton Falls police warn of E-ZPass text scam

1 min read

HAMPTON FALLS — Police are warning residents about fraudulent text messages claiming to be from E-ZPass and demanding payment for overdue tolls.

The Hampton Falls Police Department said they have received multiple reports of the scam, in which messages direct recipients to click a link to pay alleged unpaid tolls.

Authorities said the scam messages attempt to create urgency by threatening fines or legal action and may mimic official E-ZPass or Department of Transportation websites.

Police advised residents not to click on any links in unexpected messages and to verify toll account status by contacting E-ZPass or the DOT using official contact information.
