BROADALBIN — Firefighters responded to a vehicle fire Tuesday morning in the parking lot at the northwest corner of State Highway 30 and County Highway 155 in the town of Mayfield.
The Broadalbin-Kennyetto Fire Company was dispatched at 10:40 a.m. for a reported fire involving a County Waste garbage truck.
An incident commander declared a “Condition Red” and re-dispatched Broadalbin while requesting the Perth Volunteer Fire Company to assist with an engine and manpower.
The Mayfield Fire Department was placed on standby at its station.
To prevent further damage, the truck driver dumped the load before it was consumed by flames.
A Town of Mayfield Gradall was used to move the debris for extinguishment and overhaul.
