Shandaken police arrest man in alleged DWI crash

SHANDAKEN — Members of the Town of Shandaken Police arrested a 44-year-old Roxbury man on charges of aggravated driving while intoxicated and driving while intoxicated, both misdemeanors.

At approximately 6:30 p.m. on Feb. 17, officers responded to a 911 call reporting a two-car crash with injuries near 7498 State Route 28.

Following an investigation, police determined that one of the drivers had allegedly caused the accident while intoxicated.

The man was taken to the Saugerties Police Station, where a breath sample showed a blood alcohol content of 0.18%, police said.

He was released on an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in Shandaken Justice Court at a later date.
