Brocton burglary investigation leads to arrest

BROCTON — Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office road patrol responded to a burglary at Pizza Guru’s on 16 E. Main St. on Feb. 19 at approximately 2:25 a.m.

Deputies determined that forced entry was made through the rear door of the business.

The suspect damaged the cash register and stole the money inside.

The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division was called to assist.

Investigators located boot impressions outside the pizzeria, leading east from the building.

Video footage from a nearby business captured a subject leaving the area of the pizzeria and entering a residence.

Following further investigation, authorities charged Tyler T. Dalton with third-degree burglary, two counts of fourth-degree criminal mischief, and petit larceny.

A warrant was issued for Dalton’s arrest through the Town of Portland Court.

On Feb. 21, he turned himself in at the Chautauqua County Jail.

Dalton is scheduled to be arraigned at centralized arraignment.
