MANCHESTER — On Saturday, January 18, at approximately 4:33 p.m., the Manchester Police Department responded to a reported disturbance at Urban Air, an entertainment venue located at 220 Hale Road.
Officers were called to the scene after a parent of a 14-year-old dialed 911 to report that her son had been assaulted in an altercation involving roughly six individuals.
The caller also alleged that one of the parties involved was carrying a firearm, with the group subsequently fleeing on foot.
Manchester Police promptly dispatched multiple units to locate the suspects.
With the aid of witness descriptions, officers spotted the individuals entering a vehicle in the vicinity.
The car, containing adult and juvenile passengers, was stopped, though some of the occupants were resistant to exiting the vehicle.
The firearm mentioned in the initial report was not immediately found.
During the stop, a bag containing a facsimile firearm was uncovered inside the vehicle.
The fake gun was altered to appear real by painting it entirely black, including its original orange safety tip.
In close proximity to the incident, officers also retrieved a discarded bag holding a large knife and clothing corresponding to the descriptions of one of the juveniles involved.
Following the investigation, two juveniles, ages 14 and 15, were arrested and faced multiple charges, including Carrying a Facsimile Firearm, Breach of Peace 2nd Degree, Threatening 2nd Degree, Reckless Endangerment, Assault 3rd Degree, and Tampering with Evidence.
They were taken to Juvenile Detention on an Order to Detain.
As the investigation is still active, the Manchester Police Department is seeking additional information from the public regarding the incident.
