SALEM — A 20-year-old male was critically wounded in a stabbing incident in the parking lot of the Mall at Rockingham Park on Thursday evening.
Salem Police Department responded to multiple 911 calls at about 8:05 p.m. reporting the stabbing near the mall’s Food Court entrance.
Upon arrival, officers found the victim from Windham with a significant stab wound to his torso.
Immediate aid was administered, including the application of a chest seal to the wound.
The injured man was swiftly transported by Salem Fire to Lawrence General Hospital and subsequently airlifted to a hospital in the Boston area.
He remains in critical condition following surgery.
A crime scene was established, and detectives collected physical evidence and statements from numerous witnesses.
A vehicle believed to be associated with the suspects was seen fleeing the scene and later found abandoned in Salem.
A man with a knife wound to his arm sought treatment at Catholic Medical Center in Manchester and was identified as being connected to the Salem incident.
Salem detectives also executed an overnight search warrant at a Londonderry residence as part of the investigation.
It is believed that all individuals involved have been identified, and there is no ongoing threat to the public.
The case remains active, and further details are expected to be released in the coming days.
The Manchester and Londonderry Police Departments are assisting with the investigation.
