Fairfield police investigate shooting, one injured

FAIRFIELD — Police are investigating a shooting that left one person injured Sunday night in Fairfield.

The Fairfield Police Department responded to reports of possible gunfire on Fiske Street between Johnson Drive and Commerce Drive at approximately 10:36 p.m. on June 23, 2024.

Several residents told officers they heard multiple “pops” they believed to be gunshots.

Witnesses reported seeing two vehicles leaving the area in opposite directions on Fiske Street immediately after the sounds.

Officers found several shell casings at the scene and established a crime scene perimeter.

Shortly after, a male victim arrived at Bridgeport Hospital in a private vehicle with a single gunshot wound.

He received treatment for non-life-threatening injuries.

Police confirmed the injured man was connected to the Fiske Street incident.

The investigation is ongoing.
