MANCHESTER — Catherine Fryer, a 26-year-old Hartford resident, was taken into custody earlier today for her involvement in an evading accident that took place on June 7, when she allegedly struck a 15-year-old boy on an electric scooter and then fled the scene.

The incident occurred at the intersection of West Middle Turnpike and New State Road as the teen was en route to school.

Fortunately, the victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

Thanks to tips from the community and diligent police work, authorities were able to locate the vehicle used in the hit-and-run, identify Fryer as the driver, and proceed with her arrest.

Fryer has been charged with several offenses, including evading responsibility, risk of injury to a minor, operating under suspension, misuse of marker plate, and carrying insufficient insurance.

Currently held on a $100,000 bond, Fryer is scheduled to appear in Manchester Superior Court on July 8.

The Manchester Police Department expressed gratitude for the community’s crucial role in aiding the investigation and apprehension of the suspect.
