Driver ejected, injured in Exeter rollover crash

EXETER — A serious rollover crash involving two vehicles occurred just before 8 a.m. today in the area of Front Street and Parker Street, leaving one driver seriously injured.

Exeter Police and Fire Departments responded to the scene where a gray Mazda CX5, headed outbound on Front Street, reportedly crossed the centerline and collided with a white BMW 528 traveling inbound.

The impact caused the Mazda to roll onto its side and come to a halt in front of a residence at the intersection.

The male driver of the Mazda was ejected during the crash and sustained serious injuries.

He was transported to Portsmouth Regional Hospital for treatment.

Due to adverse weather conditions, a requested medical helicopter was unable to assist.

The female driver of the BMW was taken to Exeter Hospital with injuries believed to be minor.

As authorities conducted a preliminary investigation into the cause of the crash, Front Street was closed for about two hours, with traffic rerouted around the incident.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
