COLCHESTER — Vermont State Police have released the names of two New York men killed in a rollover crash in Colchester.

The victims, identified as Damanuel McLeod, 19, of Brooklyn, and Tywon Parker, 28, of the Bronx, died Friday night on East Lakeshore Drive.

The crash also involved Tayami Barnes, 31, Ron A. Thomas, 21, both from the Bronx, and an 18-year-old male from Richmond, Virginia.

Barnes and Thomas currently face charges related to cocaine possession and distribution as a result of a separate Burlington Police Department investigation.

State Police are still investigating the crash and have not yet determined who was driving the vehicle at the time.

The pursuit began with Burlington police and continued with Colchester police shortly after the pursuit was initially terminated on Vermont Route 127.

Investigators from the Vermont State Police Crash Reconstruction Team found that none of the SUV’s five occupants were wearing seatbelts, and both McLeod and Parker were ejected from the vehicle.

Excessive speed is considered a likely contributor to the accident in an area with a 25 mph speed limit.
