COLCHESTER — In a coordinated effort, the Colchester Police Department, alongside the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) and the Chittenden County Gun Violence Task Force, arrested a local man on June 3, in relation to a shooting incident that occurred on Sharrow Circle last month.

Sami Ettouzar, 19, of Essex Junction, faces several charges including second-degree attempted murder, aggravated assault, reckless endangerment, carrying a firearm while committing a felony, possession of stolen property, and driving with a suspended license, according to the Colchester Police Department.

Authorities executed a search warrant at a residence on Central Street in Essex Junction, leading to Ettouzar’s arrest.

The charges stem from an investigation into the shooting that took place on May 26.

Ettouzar is currently being held without bail at the Northwest State Correctional Facility.

The Colchester Police Department has stated that the investigation is ongoing and is urging anyone with information about the incident to come forward and assist in the case.
