HARTFORD — A joint law enforcement operation has led to the arrest of a Burlington man for allegedly targeting minors with explicit content, according to a Hartford Police Department press release.

Robert Charbonneau, 50, was taken into custody following an investigation that involved local, state, and federal agencies.

The operation began in October when Charbonneau contacted an undercover investigator who was posing as a 14-year-old girl from Vermont.

The investigator, referred to as UC in the press release, engaged in conversations with Charbonneau that reportedly became sexual in nature.

Charbonneau is accused of sending explicit images of himself to UC.

He has been charged with Luring a Child and is expected to appear in Chittenden County court at a later date.

The Hartford Police Department emphasized the importance of community safety, particularly regarding the exploitation of minors.

They issued a reminder of the need for parents and guardians to educate children about online safety and monitor their online interactions.

Suspicious behavior should be reported to law enforcement immediately.
