Norwell blaze devastates home, no injuries reported

1 min read

NORWELL — A house on Upper Ferry Lane was engulfed in flames early this morning, as Norwell Fire Department crews faced “heavy fire conditions throughout the home” upon arrival.

The fire department received the call at 3:30 a.m. and responded with four members to the reported structure fire.

The first engine on the scene called a working fire, triggering additional resources to the location which lacks fire hydrants, complicating firefighting efforts.

Two occupants were in the home when the fire started but managed to escape unharmed.

Despite the rapid response, the house sustained significant damage due to the challenging conditions.

The Norwell Fire Department’s fire investigator is currently reviewing the incident alongside the State Police to determine the cause of the fire.
