READING — A Reading man was arrested and charged with numerous domestic charges on Wednesday.

Robert Kiley, 28, of Reading, was arrested and charged with domestic assault and battery on an intimate partner, malicious destruction of property over $1,200, resisting arrest, four counts of assault with intent to commit a felony, assault with purpose of intimidation, and interference with civil rights.

On Wednesday at approximately 2:45 a.m., Reading Police were dispatched to a home in town for a report of a domestic assault in progress, with an individual threatening to stab someone with a screwdriver.

Officers arrived to find the alleged victim had already fled from the home.

Police made contact with Kiley, identified as the suspect in the incident, at the home where the assault was reported.

When officers attempted to arrest Kiley, he allegedly resisted and attempted to spit and wipe blood on both officers and EMTs.

He was taken to a local hospital for evaluation of his injuries.

Kiley was arraigned Thursday in Woburn District Court, where it was determined that he will be held pending a dangerousness hearing scheduled for Friday.
