Medford firefighters battle freezing three-alarm blaze, no injuries reported

MEDFORD — A three-alarm fire engulfed a home at 3 Pleasant Street on Saturday night, prompting a swift response from emergency services.

The Medford Emergency Communications Center received a 911 call at about 8 p.m. reporting the blaze.

Police officers arrived on the scene shortly after and confirmed an active fire.

They entered the residence to ensure all occupants were evacuated.

After confirming the safety of the residents, officers retreated from the building.

The Medford Fire Department, assisted by mutual aid from neighboring cities, worked for hours to extinguish the fire under challenging conditions, with freezing temperatures and strong winds.

All residents were assessed by Armstrong Ambulance on site and reported no injuries.

A Medford Police Officer sustained a minor injury during the evacuation efforts but has been treated and released.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by authorities.
