Lowell, MA police arrest man for trafficking cocaine after traffic stop

LOWELL — A man was arrested Tuesday on charges of trafficking over 200 grams of cocaine following a traffic stop by officers from the Gang Unit in the area of Barclay Street and Liberty Street.

The Lowell Police Department reported that the traffic stop, which occurred on Feb. 20, led to the discovery and seizure of the cocaine and an undisclosed amount of money.

In addition to the trafficking charge, the adult male, whose name has not been released, is facing motor vehicle charges.

Officials have not provided further details regarding the motor vehicle charges or the circumstances leading up to the traffic stop.

The investigation is ongoing, and the Lowell Police are expected to release more information as it becomes available.
