READING — Two men have been charged with larceny for allegedly stealing more than $600 worth of merchandise from a Home Depot, authorities said.

The Reading Police Department responded to a theft report at the Home Depot on 60 Walkers Brook Drive on Feb. 2 at about 9:45 a.m.

Store employees told officers that two men had exited the store with roofing rolls valued at over $600 before fleeing in a black pickup truck.

After failing to locate the vehicle in the store’s parking lot, Reading Police provided a description of the truck to surrounding towns.

Stoneham Police later stopped the pickup on Main Street in Stoneham and alerted Reading Police.

Upon further investigation, Reading Police recovered the stolen roofing materials and additional items suspected to have been taken from another store.

The suspects, a 48-year-old man from Dorchester and a 50-year-old man from Malden, will be summoned to court to face one count of larceny under $1,200 each.
