Sturbridge police apprehend suspect following domestic incident on Breakneck Road

STURBRIDGE — Following a domestic incident on Breakneck Road, Sturbridge police have successfully taken John Joseph Polydores into custody after an extensive search that lasted through the evening hours.

Officers were initially called to the scene overnight and began searching for Polydores, who had fled the residence on foot.

Polydores, described as a 6-foot-5-inch tall male weighing approximately 200 pounds with light brown hair and blue eyes, was considered to be a person of interest due to an active arrest warrant.

Prior to his capture, he was last seen wearing a red hooded sweatshirt and gray sweatpants.

Despite the police presence and active search, authorities assured the community that there was no indication Polydores posed a threat to the public.

The Sturbridge Police Department thanked the community for their assistance and urged anyone who might have seen Polydores to contact them immediately.

With Polydores now in custody, the department has reminded residents to stay vigilant and report any suspicious activity to authorities by calling 911 or reaching out to the Sturbridge Police Department directly at 508-347-2525 ext. 0.
