READING — A local woman was arrested and charged with larceny and other offenses Friday after police say she stole a package containing prescription medication from a mailroom.
Michelle Dallesandro, 59, of Reading, faces charges of larceny over $1,200, malicious destruction of property, and illegal possession of a Class E substance, according to the Reading Police Department.
Officers responded to the residence on Gould Street around 9:40 a.m. on Jan. 19 following a report of tampering with a package.
The initial investigation revealed that the package, which held prescription drugs, had been opened and its contents removed.
Further investigation led police to identify Dallesandro, a resident of the building, as the suspect who allegedly took the package from the mailroom and later returned it opened and empty.
Dallesandro was taken into custody without incident and was arraigned in Woburn District Court on the same day.
