Dover man charged with threatening presidential candidate

CONCORD — A Dover man has been arrested and charged with sending threatening text messages to a presidential candidate and people expected at a campaign event in Portsmouth, U.S. Attorney Jane E. Young announced Monday.

Tyler Anderson, 30, faces charges of transmitting in interstate commerce a threat to injure the person of another.

He is scheduled for an initial appearance in federal court in Concord today at 2:30 p.m.

The investigation, spearheaded by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, was supported by local law enforcement from both the Dover and Portsmouth Police Departments.

The nature of the threats and the identity of the presidential candidate have not been released.
