North Reading first responders rescue trapped individual under vehicle

NORTH READING — Police Chief Mark Zimmerman and Fire Chief Don Stats reported that North Reading Fire and Police Departments responded to a motor vehicle incident Wednesday night that left a person trapped under a vehicle on Fieldcrest Terrace.

At 7:48 p.m. Wednesday, emergency services received a 911 call with reports of an individual stuck beneath a vehicle near the intersection of Fieldcrest and Hollywood terraces.

Responding units found the person trapped upon arrival.

Firefighters from North Reading utilized airbag systems to lift the vehicle and successfully extricated the victim.

The individual was then transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital, and as of now, their condition has not been disclosed.

The investigation into the cause of the incident is ongoing, with assistance from the Massachusetts State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section (CARS) Unit.
