COLCHESTER — A Colchester woman was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol this afternoon after local police received multiple reports of a car being driven erratically.

At around 3 p.m., the Colchester Police Department was alerted by concerned citizens about a white Honda sedan that was seen swerving on Blakely Road heading east toward Severance Road.

One of the reporting parties followed the vehicle as it continued south on Roosevelt Highway from the intersection with Blakely Road.

A Colchester police officer subsequently stopped the vehicle in the area of Sunny Hollow.

The driver, identified as 41-year-old Oma Mizar of Colchester, was taken into custody following the traffic stop.

An evidentiary test conducted at the police station revealed that Mizar’s blood alcohol content was approximately three times over the legal limit of 0.08%.

She was charged with a DUI 2nd offense.

Mizar is scheduled to appear before the Chittenden County Superior Court, Criminal Division, on Dec. 14.
