Three-car crash in Colchester leaves multiple injured

COLCHESTER –– A three-car crash on College Parkway and Johnson Avenue left multiple people seriously injured on October 27.

According to the Colchester Police Department, the accident occurred around 3:24 p.m. in the westbound lane.

George Spry, 84, of Essex Junction was driving a 2016 Chevrolet Tahoe when he collided with a 2011 Toyota Rav 4, operated by a female juvenile.

The impact caused the Rav 4 to hit a 2022 GMC Canyon driven by Ellen Bell, 76, also of Essex Junction.

Spry, Bell and a passenger in Spry’s vehicle were taken to UVM Medical Center with serious injuries.

The westbound lane of College Parkway was closed for about an hour as first responders investigated the crash.

Assisting the Colchester Police Department were Colchester Rescue, Colchester Fire, Saint Michael’s College Rescue, UVM Rescue, and the Chittenden Country Sheriff’s Department.

At this time, neither speed nor impairment are considered factors in the crash. Anyone who witnessed the incident is asked to call the Colchester Police Department at 802-264-5555.
