CONCORD –– Logan Clegg was found guilty on four counts of second-degree murder, one count of being a felon in possession of a firearm, and four counts of falsifying physical evidence in the deaths of Stephen and Djeswende Reid.
The retired couple was killed while on a walk near their Concord residence on April 18, 2022, by Clegg, who exhibited an extreme indifference to the value of human life.
The verdict was handed down by a Merrimack County Superior Court jury after three weeks of trial.
Clegg was convicted of both knowingly and recklessly causing the Reids’ deaths by shooting them.
“Today our thoughts are with Stephen and Djeswende Reid, their family, and all those who knew and loved them,” said Attorney General Formella. “I extend my sincere thanks to the trial team and our law enforcement partners, especially the Concord Police Department, for their excellent work on this case. Going forward we at the Department of Justice will continue our work to protect the public and seek justice.”
Clegg’s sentencing is set for 9:00 a.m. on December 15, 2023, at the Merrimack County Superior Court in Concord. He is held without bail pending sentencing.
