NORTHWOOD –– A dump truck crash on the morning of October 20 led to a partial road closure and a call for witnesses by the New Hampshire State Police.

Around 7:00 a.m., troopers responded to a request for assistance from the Northwood Police Department.

The incident involved a commercial motor vehicle crash on First New Hampshire Turnpike, near the Barn Dog Inn.

Upon arrival, troopers found a 2000 Sterling dump truck, driven by 48-year-old Jickler Gomez of Lakeland, Florida, significantly damaged after hitting several trees and other objects before finally resting in the woods.

The investigation revealed that Gomez was traveling east on Route 4 when his truck drifted onto the dirt shoulder.

He overcorrected, crossed the westbound lane, and veered off the roadway into the woods.

Gomez was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries. The truck crash led to the temporary reduction of the roadway to a single lane as crews worked to remove the vehicle from the area.

The NHSP is asking anyone who may have witnessed the crash or has relevant information to contact the Northwood Police Department at (603) 942-8284.
