COLCHESTER –– Early morning on Oct. 19, a local resident reported to the Colchester Police Department that four individuals were attempting to break into vehicles in the Perimeter Drive area.

According to the police, multiple vehicles were found vandalized in the vicinity.

Upon arriving at the scene, officers spotted a suspicious vehicle leaving a nearby parking garage.

The police attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver and occupants evaded them, driving across the front and rear lawn of a private residence on Blakely Road.

The suspects then abandoned the stolen vehicle and fled on foot into a neighboring wooded area, eluding law enforcement.

The Colchester Police Department now believes these suspects are linked to recent reports of stolen motor vehicles and larcenies from motor vehicles in Chittenden County.

The investigation is ongoing, with the suspects yet to be located.

The Colchester Police Department is urging anyone with further information to contact them at 802-264-5555.
