DIXVILLE –– A Brookline man was seriously injured in UTV rollover in Dixville on Friday, September 22, around 12:45 p.m.

The victim, identified as Brandon Haynes, was a passenger in a UTV driven by Joseph Bellantoni of Milford, NH, when the accident occurred at the intersection of Keyser Brook Trail and Greenough Pond Road.

Officials said that Bellantoni failed to negotiate a slight uphill bend, resulting in the UTV flipping onto its passenger side doors.

Emergency personnel from Errol Fire & Rescue, along with a NH Fish and Game Conservation Officer, responded to the scene.

Due to the severity of Haynes’ injuries, a medical air evacuation was requested.

Haynes was transported by Errol Ambulance to a landing zone a few miles from the crash site.

He was then airlifted by a Dartmouth Hitchcock Advanced Response Team (DHART) helicopter to Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Hanover for treatment of his injuries.

Bellantoni was not injured in the crash.

Although Bellantoni had limited experience driving a UTV, authorities believe that speed was the primary contributing factor to the accident.

NH Fish and Game officials are urging all riders to adhere to speed limits, be aware of trail conditions, and operate within their riding abilities.
