Concord man found dead in Merrimack River

CONCORD — A local man reported missing on September 13, 2023, was found dead in the Merrimack River the following morning, according to the Concord Police Department.

The man, whose identity is being withheld until next of kin is notified, was reported missing at 7:25 p.m.

His vehicle was later discovered in the parking lot of the Everett Arena on Loudon Road at 11:30 p.m.

Concord Police, with the help of the Concord Fire Department, initiated search efforts in the vicinity of the Merrimack River.

The river search was temporarily halted at 1 a.m., with ground searches continuing throughout the night.

The search resumed at 8 a.m. with the assistance of the New Hampshire Fish & Game Dive Team.

The man’s body was located by the Dive Team at 8:45 a.m. and he was pronounced dead by Concord Fire personnel.

An autopsy has been scheduled to establish the cause and manner of death, but at this stage, foul play is not suspected.
