3 arrested in connection with violent assault in Concord

CONCORD –– Three men were arrested Wednesday, September 7, 2023, by the Concord Police Department in connection with an assault that happened on August 20, leaving three people severely injured.

Matayo Riley, 26, Evan Bailey, 21, and Sincere Thomas, 24, have been charged with various offenses including riot, robbery, disorderly conduct, and assault.

Bailey and Thomas also face charges of reckless conduct and receiving stolen property, respectively.

The violent incident occurred around 12:45 a.m. on August 20, when police responded to a disturbance report on Depot Street.

Upon arrival, officers found an unconscious woman and a man trying to attend to her. Three individuals, including the woman, were later taken to the hospital for serious injuries.

Investigation revealed that the assault was initiated at WOW Billiards on 2 North Main Street. A group, including the three arrested, reportedly chased and violently attacked the victims on Depot Street.

The three suspects are being held at the Merrimack County House of Corrections on preventative detention and are scheduled for arraignment at Merrimack County Superior Court on September 8.
