Portsmouth police urge residents to secure vehicles, report suspicious activity

PORTSMOUTH –– Local authorities are urging residents to lock their vehicles and report any suspicious activity following a series of vehicle break-ins in the early hours of August 23.

Caught on CCTV footage, a suspect was seen rummaging through vehicles in the F. W. Hartford area.

The suspect is described as a tall, thin white male with glasses and dark hair.

In response to this incident, the Portsmouth Police Department has issued a stern warning to residents.

“Do not leave your vehicles unlocked or leave your valuables inside your vehicle,” the department cautioned.

Residents with any information regarding the incident or the suspect are encouraged to call police.
