MANCHESTER— Two local residents were arrested on charges of theft in connection with the July 20 heist of a boat and trailer, according to Manchester police.
The suspects, identified as 51-year-old Andrew Dufresne and 48-year-old Julie Tomchak, were captured on surveillance cameras at about 8 p.m. on Blaine St.
The footage showed a dark-colored SUV pulling into a parking lot, with a man and woman—later identified as Dufresne and Tomchak—exiting the vehicle.
The man then entered the driver’s seat, while the woman helped him hitch a 2003 18-foot Mariah motorboat and trailer to the SUV before driving away.
The duo was charged with two counts of felony Theft by Unauthorized Taking.
Tomchak was also charged with Receiving Stolen Property.
The stolen boat and trailer were eventually recovered and returned to their rightful owner.
Following their arrests, Dufresne was released on personal recognizance bail.
He is set to be arraigned on September 15.
Tomchak, in turn, was released on a $1000 personal recognizance bail and was arraigned on September 8.
