Parole violator arrested, drugs and stolen handgun seized in Northfield

NORTHFIELD — A routine traffic stop led to the arrest of a Northfield man and the seizure of a significant quantity of drugs and a stolen handgun.

Officer Nelson of the Northfield Police Department conducted a motor vehicle stop on May 30, 2023, at approximately 2:00 am, citing an inspection violation.

The driver, identified as Adam Roz, 48, was taken into custody on an outstanding parole violation warrant. Roz was transported to the Merrimack County Jail and later transferred to the New Hampshire State Prison.

During the arrest, Officer Nelson obtained a search warrant for Roz’s backpack. The subsequent search yielded approximately 100 grams of Fentanyl, 15 grams of Crack Cocaine, a small amount of Methamphetamine, packaging materials, a digital scale, and a stolen handgun.

The handgun was previously reported stolen from Laconia, NH.

Roz, a convicted felon, is prohibited from possessing firearms.

Charges stemming from the drug and firearm seizure are expected to be added to Roz’s existing parole violation.
