Arrest made following nine-month investigation into Concord drug overdose death

CONCORD — Following an extensive nine-month investigation into a drug overdose death reported on Mayflower Drive in September last year, an arrest has finally been made.

The victim, whose identity has not been disclosed, was found at the scene and transported to Concord Hospital where they were pronounced dead. The investigation into their death has been ongoing and meticulous, conducted by Detectives from the Criminal Investigations Division.

As a result of their investigation, sufficient evidence was gathered to issue an arrest warrant for an individual identified only as Byron.

The charges include Sale of a Controlled Drug with Death Resulting and Falsifying Physical Evidence.

The warrant for Byron’s arrest was issued on May 22, 2023.

On June 5, 2023, Hooksett Police Department apprehended Byron on the outstanding warrant. Following processing at the Concord Police Department, Byron requested the services of a Bail Commissioner and was subsequently released on Personal Recognizance bail.

Byron is due to appear at the Merrimack County Superior Court for arraignment on June 22, 2023.

The Concord Police Department acknowledged the assistance of the NH Chief Medical Examiner’s Office and the NH Attorney General’s Office in the investigation.
