Two-vehicle crash with injuries on I-89 in Colchester

COLCHESTER — Police responded to a two-vehicle crash with injuries in Colchester this morning.

The crash took place on I-89 south at around 7:20 a.m.

According to the report, Jordhan Varin, 29, of West Chazy, NY, was headed south and William Fisher, 29, of Essex Jct., was attempting to make a left-hand turn into the emergency U-turn area prior to the crash.

Police say Varin immediately moved over to the passing lane.

Fisher was towing a signboard trailer and attempting to make a left-hand turn into the emergency U-turn area when Varin entered the road.

Police say Varin attempted to go around Fisher as he was turning which resulted in a collision.

Varin came to rest in the median of the road as a result of the crash.

The area of the crash was closed to one lane of traffic temporarily while the Varin was being attended to.

Troopers were assisted on the scene by Colchester Fire and Rescue, the Chittenden County Sheriff’s Office, and Central Towing.
