BRATTLEBORO — A Massachusetts man has been sentenced to a prison term of five to twelve years after pleading guilty to a long list of charges, including first-degree aggravated assault, domestic assault, and drug-related charges.

Patrick Boyer of Deerfield, Massachusetts, assaulted a woman, threatened her with a gun, and attempted to inject her with bleach at the Econo Lodge in Brattleboro.

He also sold cocaine and heroin to confidential informants working with the Vermont State Police on multiple occasions at the same location.

The plea agreement ensures that any future domestic violence cases against Boyer will be prosecuted at the felony level, allowing for a greater punishment if he continues to engage in violent behavior in an interpersonal relationship.

As part of the agreement, Boyer will be supervised by the Department of Corrections for at least a decade.
