Police seek public help in Concord smoke bomb investigation

CONCORD — Police are investigating after an improvised incendiary device was found in the area of 2 Capital Plaza on Friday evening.

Officers were dispatched to the scene at 8:05 p.m. on March 25.

The New Hampshire State Police Explosives Unit later examined the device and determined that it was most likely a device designed to generate smoke rather than an explosion.

No one was believed to be in danger, and the incident is currently under investigation.

The Concord Police Department is seeking the public’s help in identifying the person responsible for the placement of the device.

Anyone who was in the area of 2 Capital Plaza during the daytime of March 25 or during the hours leading up to the discovery of the device and who witnessed anything suspicious is asked to contact the Criminal Investigations Division at the Concord Police Department at (603) 225-8600.
