Police respond to Bethel Elementary School after threats reported

BETHEL — Police are investigating after an anonymous tip came in regarding possible concerning Facebook posts directed at the Bethel Elementary School.

The report came in on Tuesday.

Police say they responded to the school to investigate.

Throughout the day Bethel Police stayed at the school while the Vermont State Police looked into the posts and their validity.

At the conclusion of the investigation, it was found that the posts were not directed as a threat of harm and no concern for the public was found.

Police continue to encourages the public to report any concerning social media threats to their local police department.
