1 dead following shooting outside NVRH in St. Johnsbury

ST. JOHNSBURY — Police are responding to a reported shooting in the parking lot outside Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital in St. Johnsbury.

The exact circumstances of the incident are evolving and currently unknown, police say, however, it has been confirmed that one person is dead.

According to reports, the hospital is secure and the shooting took place at around 8:50 a.m.

The deceased individual was located in the parking lot.

Troopers from multiple Vermont State Police barracks, including St. Johnsbury and Derby, are responding to the scene.

Detectives from the Major Crime Unit and Bureau of Criminal Investigations are also on the scene.

No one is currently in custody.

There are also reports that a “be on the lookout” was issued in connection to this incident for a silver Jeep Wrangler, with Connecticut tags, with two males and one female inside.
