MIDDLESEX — Two vehicles were destroyed in a fire Monday afternoon on Sky View Drive that appears to be accidental, according to the Yates County Sheriff’s Office.
A Middlesex Fire Department assistant chief discovered a pickup truck on fire at 6115 Sky View Dr. at approximately 4:21 p.m. and called for additional resources.
The fire spread to a nearby SUV while emergency crews were responding to the scene.
Both vehicles were extinguished by the Middlesex and Rushville fire departments but were declared a total loss.
The vehicles belonged to Eddie R. Guzzo, 23, of the Sky View Drive address.
The Yates County Fire Investigation Team took over the scene to determine the cause of the fire.
Potter Fire Department also responded to the incident along with sheriff’s deputies.
