HARTFORD, CT — Hartford police arrested a city man Friday night after officers found a loaded handgun during an investigative motor vehicle stop on Lenox Street.
Members of the Street Crimes Unit stopped a vehicle in the area of 40 Lenox St. at about 10 p.m. Friday, March 13.
During the investigation, officers located a loaded semi-automatic handgun on the driver’s side floorboard of the vehicle, police said.
The operator, identified as Marvin Porter, 33, of Hartford, was determined to be a previously convicted felon and was arrested without incident, according to police.
Porter was charged with weapons in a motor vehicle, criminal possession of a firearm and possession of a high-capacity magazine.
Police said the firearm recovered was a Taurus GX4 9mm handgun with a magazine containing eight live rounds.
