PENN YAN, NY — A Bath man was arrested after an investigation into the theft of a commercial oven from a local business.
Phillip R. Hayden, 65, of Bath, was taken into custody by Penn Yan Police in the village.
Police said the theft was reported on March 7, 2026.
Officers obtained information identifying Hayden as the suspect.
New York State Police assisted Penn Yan Police with contacting Hayden and negotiating the return of the stolen property.
Hayden was charged with petit larceny.
He was released on an appearance ticket to return to Penn Yan Village Court at a later date.
