SCOTRUN, PA — A 41-year-old man was arrested on an outstanding warrant stemming from a domestic incident last month.
Jake E. Jahada, of Scotrun, was taken into custody by Pocono Township Police Department on March 3.
Police were dispatched to a residence on Hemlock Trail at approximately 2:20 a.m. on Feb. 22 for a domestic incident.
Officers made contact with the victim and observed marks on her neck consistent with being choked, according to police.
The victim told officers her boyfriend had choked her with both hands and continued to choke her with his forearm.
Jahada had fled the residence prior to officers’ arrival.
A warrant was issued on Feb. 24 by Magistrate Kresge.
Jahada was placed into Monroe County Correctional Facility on charges of strangulation, simple assault and harassment, along with additional charges stemming from two incidents of fleeing.
