NAZARETH, PA — A Northampton man was arrested on drug charges following a narcotics investigation in Nazareth Borough.
William Bierschenk Scorza, 36, was taken into custody on Feb. 13 by the Nazareth Borough Police Department in conjunction with the Northampton County Drug Task Force.
Police said the investigation targeted the distribution of illegal controlled substances within the community.
During the investigation, Scorza delivered and possessed approximately five grams of fentanyl, according to police.
Scorza was charged with delivery of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, tampering with physical evidence and criminal use of a communication facility.
He was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Robert Hawke, who set bail at $100,000 cash.
Scorza was committed to Northampton County Prison.
The Northampton County Drug Task Force involved in the investigation was comprised of officers and detectives from the Colonial Regional Police Department, Northampton County Detectives, Northampton Borough Police Department, Wilson Borough Police Department and Bethlehem Township Police Department.
