POCONO TOWNSHIP, PA — Police arrested a woman Thursday in connection with a check forgery scheme that cost a local resident more than $2,200.
Marlene Reye, 56, of Henryville, was arrested by the Pocono Township Police Department on Feb. 19.
Reye faces charges of forgery and theft by unlawful taking.
In August, a local resident reported a series of forged checks to police.
The investigation revealed that the victim had initially given Reye a legitimate check for business purposes.
Police said the check was then fraudulently duplicated on four separate occasions.
An arrest warrant was issued Feb. 10 by Magisterial District Judge 43-3-03.
