Man arrested on criminal contempt charge in Penn Yan

PENN YAN, NY — A 32-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly violating an order of protection while in custody at the Yates County Jail.

Christopher Castle, of Penn Yan, was charged with criminal contempt in the second degree on Feb. 14 at 8:31 a.m.

Yates County Correctional Officers notified sheriff’s deputies that Castle had continued to contact a protected party via video call, according to the Yates County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies conducted an investigation and confirmed the incident occurred.

The arrest came days after Castle was arrested for a similar incident, according to the sheriff’s office.

Castle was issued an appearance ticket for a later court date.
