Three arrested in Providence on various charges

PROVIDENCE, RI — State Police made three arrests during early morning traffic stops in the city.

At 12:40 a.m., troopers arrested Jayvon Nunez, 27, of Providence, on a Sixth Division District Court bench warrant for failure to appear for arraignment on the original charge of driving with a suspended license, fourth or subsequent offense.

The arrest stemmed from a traffic stop on Bucklin Street.

Nunez was transported to the Lincoln Woods Barracks, where he was processed, arraigned by a justice of the peace, and released with a future Sixth Division District Court date.

At 1:15 a.m., troopers arrested Ocean Gonzalez, 29, of Revere, Massachusetts, for possession of a Schedule I-V controlled substance under 10 grams (cocaine) and possession of a Schedule I-V controlled substance under 10 grams (fentanyl).

The arrest resulted from a traffic stop on Atwells Avenue.

Gonzalez was transported to the Lincoln Woods Barracks, where he was processed, arraigned by a justice of the peace, and released with a future Sixth Division District Court date.

At 1:15 a.m., troopers arrested Desire Thornton, 28, of Revere, Massachusetts, for possession of a Schedule I-V controlled substance under 10 grams (cocaine).

The arrest resulted from a traffic stop on Atwells Avenue.

Thornton was transported to the Lincoln Woods Barracks, where she was processed, arraigned by a justice of the peace, and released with a future Sixth Division District Court date.
